The Abay Edible Oil Factory is the flagship industrial asset of the Yeshambel Mengesha Group — engineered to significantly reduce Ethiopia’s national dependency on imported cooking oils through high-output domestic production. The facility integrates three full-scale production lines — mechanical pressing, crude oil refining, and solvent extraction — enabling complete processing from raw seed to finished food-grade oil under one industrial roof.

By upcycling manufacturing by-products from our edible oil operations — including oil cakes and extracted meals — we transform agro-industrial waste into nutritious livestock rations, creating a circular production model that maximizes resource efficiency.
